Search with id:123 where 123 is your module id. This works in most of the admin side to search by an id value.

You definitely have to look at Regular Labs: Advanced Module Manager Pro The pro version features Seasons, Months, Days, Time assignments, so you can schedule the appearance of your modules.

If anyone else runs into this, clear your browser and joomla cache. The javascript handling the module manager UI was changed and conflicts with what is stored.

Welcome to JSE. I'm not sure which documentation you've been referring to, however the Joomla Docs show you how to add parameters to your module: https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Creating_a_simple_module/Adding_Form_Fields So a basic example: mod_something.xml <config> <fields name="params"> <fieldset name="basic"> <field ...

I had this issue in a client's website and the problem started after adding 100s of menu items, menus, and modules. I ended up that the problem was the max_input_vars in php.ini. So, basically you can ask your hosting provider to increase max_input_vars or you can add the following line in your .htaccess file: php_value max_input_vars 3000 It solved the ...

It's not clear if you want to display the module inside a given module position of your template, or inside your article content. Module in Module Positions Joomla Core Module Manager gives the ability to assign modules per menu item. This allows for some control over where and when to display a module. That control is based on the menu item id. For ...

while I'm not sure why the drag-and-drop order behavior isn't working for you, for modules at least, if you open the module there is an 'Ordering' configuration option that lets you select the order it should appear in. Maybe a dumb question, but does your cursor change to the 4-way arrows before you grab the item to drag it?

joomla.getOptions is a JS function available in Joomla 3.7+, hence the reason you have this error. You have two options: Source an older version of Advanced Module Manager which is compatible with Joomla 3.6.X. This option is not advised due to multiple security vulnerabilities in your version of Joomla. Upgrade to the latest Joomla 3.9.X, which will solve ...

It's important to keep your software up-to-date.Your Joomla 3.6.4 has been released in October 2016. The most recent Joomla version is Joomla 3.9.19 (June 2020). In between those versions, whole bunch of issues (including some security issues) have been fixed. It's a waste of time to try fixing issues with outdated software. Those issues might have been ...

You can force joomla to use a different template (a simple template maybe) every time user trying to edit the module. I created a plugin for similiar purpose but for editing article in here. You can modified the plugin to support module editing by modifying the editortemplate.php file at lines 23 - 26, from $view = $app->input->get('view'); if ($...

The simplest solution would be to create a Template Override for the following file: components/com_config/view/modules/tmpl/default.php Once done, in the override, add the following PHP: JFactory::getDocument()->addScriptDeclaration(" document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', function() { var form = document.getElementById('modules-...

I had a similar problem to this (I wasn't able to save menu items) using the Isis admin template. The fix I found was to open the index.php in the Isis admin template and on lines 27 and 28 you'll find the following: // Add JavaScript Frameworks JHtml::_('bootstrap.framework'); on line 29, add the following JHtml::_('behavior.framework', true); So it ...

This is a good question as you have tried just about everything I can think of. I only have a few suggestions. Alternative Administrator Template By default, the Isis template is enabled but Joomla also ships Hathor as an alternative administrator template. You can change to Hathor by selecting "Administrator" in the drop down list at Extensions -> ...

There are many templates that provide an option to hide component's output on the home page, and only display content from modules instead. In the majority of these cases, the home menu item remains the featured articles type - but these are not being displayed - either by the menu item settings, or by the template's code/design. Menu Item - Module ...

This issue does not require to re-install Joomla. All it takes to fix this issue is make sure to clear Joomla's cache and browser cache and refresh the page. It's a caching issue usually after updates, as some js have been changed for the backend, but the backend still loads old cached js.

I Fixed it by reinstalling Joomla core files. First make a back-up. Then components -> Joomla -> install ps. this is available form Joomla 3.6.x

In recent Joomla versions (3.2 and later), modules come with a permissions tab, where you can set the following permissions per user-group: Delete Edit Edit State Front-end Editing Of course you need a ACL organization in place - as if all of your editing users are Super-Users then you can't restrict them from accessing the module.

I think the <optgroup> label should be changed from "Custom Position" to "Already Used" or "Selected Positions" or something like that. To do so, create or open the file /administrator/language/overrides/en-GB.override.ini and add this line: COM_MODULES_CUSTOM_POSITION="Already Used" Also there is a dirty way to get rid of the optgroup by ...

Try also defining your module positions by naming them in your template system language file, i.e.; en-GB.tpl_yourtemplatename.sys.ini Name each position like this, where in this example the module positions are header, banner and breadcrumbs and yourtemplatename is your template name ; TPL_YOURTEMPLATENAME_POSITION_HEADER="Header" ...
