An alternate hack that I always like to throw out, since it doesn't involve editing core files is to override the css file with a blank css file in your template. This will still lead to a call to your server to load the resource, but you won't have to have any bootstrap styling. Just add an empty file here: templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/jui/bootstrap.min.css ...

Does this happen with all Joomla 3.3 installations or is just mine? In version: 3.2-3.7 (I tested). Is there a way I can disable bootstrap from loading? Yes, there is. Just remove it before building the header, using event onBeforeCompileHead (More info in the docs.). In view of the possibility of attaching the library at any time by various ...

You would want to match the path that you send as the first parameter within your template at templates/*your_template*/html/layouts/ So in the example you listed of <?php echo JLayoutHelper::render('joomla.content.intro_image', $this->item); ?> copy the file currently at layouts/joomla/content/intro_image.php to templates/*your_template*/html/...

You can achieve this by overriding menu module. Let say your current template is protostar then create a file <JOOMLA FOLDER>/templates/protostar/html/mod_menu/default_component.php and add code like below (not optimized but it's working): <?php /** * @package Joomla.Site * @subpackage mod_menu * * @copyright Copyright (C) 2005 - ...

JRquest has been deprecated in the earlier release of Joomla 3.x Use JFactory::getApplication()->input instead. For getting any variable (say name) from post method use below line of code JFactory::getApplication()->input->post->get('name');

The updates for 3.3.5 and 2.5.26 were pulled after a last minute (but minor) issue was detected. Please see: https://plus.google.com/+joomla/posts/XmkJAm4fCGS also: https://www.facebook.com/joomla and: https://twitter.com/joomla/status/517021851231744001 As it mentions if you've already run the update (or applied it manually) it's not a problem but you ...

Just an idea (not tested), but how about building a small plugin that unsets Bootstrap? Something like this: public function onAfterRender() { //get the array containing all the script declarations $document = JFactory::getDocument(); $headData = $document->getHeadData(); $scripts = $headData['scripts']; //remove script ...

As others pointed out, Joomla does not install PHP. Upgrading or installing Joomla will not change your PHP version. PHP is usually installed and updated by your hosting company (or by yourself if you manager your own server). Joomla 3.3.6 requires PHP 5.3.10 or above (5.4 + recommended). According to your screenshot you're using PHP 5.4.32, so you should ...

Add this to your view.html.php to add the button to the toolbar: // Get the toolbar object instance $bar = JToolBar::getInstance('toolbar'); JHtml::_('bootstrap.modal', 'collapseModal'); $title = JText::_('JTOOLBAR_BATCH'); // Instantiate a new JLayoutFile instance and render the batch button $layout = new JLayoutFile('joomla.toolbar.batch'); $dhtml = $...

I think you're confusing the purpose of your main / master controller (controller.php) and subcontrollers (everything in the /controllers folder). For more on this, see the docs. The main controller is typically used to do what you mention in your comment (render a view based on the view parameter, usually specified in the URL). In controller.php, the ...

The general rule when doing a template is to load your own CSS files after the <jdoc:include type="head" />. That's important because this way you have the final say over CSS rules. However that also means that you don't use $doc->addStyleSheet() in your template. Instead you just write it as plain HTML into your head after the jdoc statement. ...

With the core routing system, there isn't a practical way to accomplish it. You can use a tool like sh404SEF to achieve this though.

Looking at the Protostar template, it uses modules.php so try changing your file from: module.php to modules.php Note the s on the end. Also, on your jdoc includes, try adding a space before the forward slash at the end. style="megarounded"/> to style="megarounded" /> Hope this helps

It was actually a bug that it worked (or to be more specific a security issue). The current behaviour is correct. References: Menu item type of External URL can not be saved with javascript:void() How to let menu item execute Javascript in Joomla 3.2?

Joomla is not shipped with PHP, therefore if you update Joomla, it will not update your PHP version. PHP is a server side language and must be upgraded my either yourself or your host. Only some hosts (if you're on a shared hosting package) allow you to select a different PHP version. The reason being is that on some shared hosting packages, the same PHP ...

You may allow only Yahoo, Google and MSN bots to crawl your site using User-agent property. Just leave blank Disallow: for allowed crawler. Slurp is Yahoo's bot. For example: User-agent: Googlebot Disallow: /administrator Disallow: /bin/ Disallow: /cache/ Disallow: /cli/ Disallow: /components/ Disallow: /images/ Disallow: /includes/ Disallow: /...

The smart search component does an index of your sites pages, so makes a new list just to search from. The normal search searches your live articles. This means you can go in to the index and remove pages you dont want. So look on this page and tick and delete the pages you dont want. YOURWEBSITE.. /administrator/index.php?option=com_finder You can also ...

Google will use URL parameters to crawl anything it can and you allow to find in a website. So this is an expected behavior for sites that have dynamically created pages. These days Google is very smart and can identify the correct url for a page and will present this to any potential searcher. It really manages this pretty well. In general if you are ...

I resolved this by a fresh and clean install of Joomla 3.3.6, then I migrated across all of the relevant database tables. Not pretty (or quick) but it's working now at least! * UPDATE * This fix works much better: DROP TABLE #####_updates; CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `#####_updates` ( `update_id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `update_site_id` int(...

Joomla also provides a plugin named User-Profile using which you can maintain additional user related information. This plugins is pre-installed with joomla installation. In case this plugin is not sufficient enough to handle your requirement then you can either modify this extension to collect more information or you can create similar extension.

you can create an article as content -> Article Manager -> Add new Article. You will have to use any menu item for it to be displayed.

I have a very similar site than your, but only in 2 languages, and this association is working for me, just make sure, that you have done these steps: - Associate categories (you have already mentioned) - associated articles (you have already mentioned) - set the language at each article (funny but I failed to do so) - set up menus for the category blogs (...

Unfortunately Joomla doesn't work like this. To make a Joomla template, you have to have some dynamic elements such as the jdoc tag that imports the component and so forth. <jdoc:include type="head" /> is also a requirement and a very handy one at that. Basically, it gets all the script, link and anything else that is supposed to be injected into the &...

I just had this issue myself. The problem was that the client had internal links that were not relative and were linking to the proper page but with these weird URLs. Once the internal links on the page were resolved (relinked properly), the error that you've posted disappeared. Good luck!

The intro image is generated in the JLayout layouts/joomla/content/intro_image.php. You can override this in your own template in /templates/your_template/html/layouts/joomla/content/intro_image.php. Just copy the file there and adjust as needed. I think you should be able to generate a link there. To generate the link, you can use JRoute::_(...

I struggled with this longer than I care to admit. My answer is based on Bootstrap 3.2.0 and it creates a collapsible dropdown menu for Joomla 3.3 In my template I included bootstrap.css and a modified version of bootstrap.js More info about the modification at the bottom of this answer. I put the following code in my index.php file <!--Navigation-->...

They're using Google reCAPTCHA Mailhide. If you want to use it once, you can simply get the HTML code from their generator.
