Bootstrap is a front-end framework from Twitter designed to kick-start development of webapps and sites. As of Joomla 3.0, Bootstrap is included in the Joomla core, and can be used both on front-end and back-end.
To enable the Bootstrap framework in Joomla, call JHtml::_('bootstrap.framework'). This will automatically enable the jQuery framework in noConflict mode (i.e. accessed via jQuery. instead of $.)
