I’m having some trouble with custom fields and tags when creating/editing an article from frontend.

I’m using tags and several custom fields (grouped into five groups). By standard, the custom fields are rendered by the code:

<?php echo JLayoutHelper::render('joomla.edit.params', $this); ?>

To be able to control the positions of the custom fields, I’m rendering the custom fieldset with this codes:

<?php echo $this->form->renderFieldset('fields-1'); ?>
<?php echo $this->form->renderFieldset('fields-2'); ?>

The problem is that all the custom fields still are rendered with the joomla.edit.params and are display twice. I’ve tried to comment-out the code, but that give me a new problem.

<?php // echo JLayoutHelper::render('joomla.edit.params', $this); ?>

When comment-out the code, the layout for Tag select field and a select field for a custom field are not rendered correctly.

Isn’t it possible to stop rendering the custom fields when rendering joomla.edit.params?
