I am using Joomla 3.8 with JEvents v3.4.47.

The page where you can edit the calendar entry contains a joomla submit button:

<button onclick="Joomla.submitbutton('icalrepeat.save');" class="btn btn-small button-apply btn-success">
    <span class="icon-apply icon-white" aria-hidden="true"></span>
    Save &amp; Close</button>

I want to change the destination URL when the Save & Close button is pressed.

What I tried to do was adding some javaScript that overrides the joomla.submitbutton

I added this JavaScript code by using a Custom Layout for the Event Edit Page

<script>

    console.log("JavaScriptWorks");
    Joomla.submitbutton =function() {
            console.log("button");
    };

</script>

If I am correct now the joomla.submitbutton should do nothing except log the word button to the console.

But the original functionality is still executed.
