There are some strange things happening on my Joomla! 3.8.2 site. It appears that a page exists which lists all categories.

However, there is no Menu Item made for this. This URL is a Menu Item Type "Menu Heading" under which there are grouped some other Menu Items. So this should be a Menu Item Type of "Menu Heading", not a Menu Item Type of "List All Categories".

I wonder how this could happen, and how I can correct this issue?

  • It is common practice to have a Ghost/Hidden menu to display pages which do not have a main menu item, do you have this type of menu? – Dtorr1981 Mar 26 '18 at 7:28
  • Hi, yes I have a hidden menu. But perhaps not EVERY article has a menu item yet. Should that matter? – C.A. Vuyk Mar 26 '18 at 7:50
  • Have you checked whether that page is actually an item on the hidden menu? – Dtorr1981 Mar 26 '18 at 13:54
  • The link is in the main menu, "Menu Item Type": "Menu heading" – C.A. Vuyk Mar 26 '18 at 14:06
  • I removed the alias in Menu>edit item, then saved it, then restored the alias (for the links in the menu are preceded by this alias) and saved it again. Now the link is exactely the same again, but the Category list page does not show any more! – C.A. Vuyk Mar 26 '18 at 14:23
