Their code seems to completely ignore the Joomla framework (their own installer!?!), so I wouldn't guarantee Joomla's core updater would notify you properly. Also, check the GeoIP settings - you might be expected to provide your own maxmind key or something.
May 24, 2017 at 21:31 | comment | added | RichardB | I reckon it will be the GeoIP one that's the problem, as it makes sense that one would call an external server. It uses maxmind.com for the IP lookup.
May 24, 2017 at 19:42 | comment | added | Delete my account | I uninstalled everything from Regular Labs and the admin is fast again! As soon as I install either Advanced Module Maganer + GeoIP (or the library that is also installed with any of their extensions), the admin breaks. If I just disable the extensions (instead of uninstaling them) the admin is still slow.
May 24, 2017 at 19:20 | comment | added | Delete my account | Yes, I've just upgraded all Regular Labs extensions.
May 24, 2017 at 19:16 | comment | added | RichardB | One thing : are the extensions all patched, and up-to-date?
May 24, 2017 at 19:13 | comment | added | RichardB | Just the link above suggests that the URL belongs to them. Might be worth searching through the code of your site for "siteground.com" to see where it is mentioned.
May 24, 2017 at 19:09 | comment | added | Delete my account | So, the IP being requested is from their site? Do you confirm that?
May 24, 2017 at 19:08 | comment | added | Delete my account | I'll get the site offline and uninstall Regular Labs extensions, check, and install again.
May 24, 2017 at 19:08 | comment | added | RichardB | The fact that it is calling their site suggests it may just be a slow server at their end, and will fix itself. Though why you are having to connect to their site is another matter.
May 24, 2017 at 19:06 | comment | added | RichardB | Looking at their extensions, I have seen Sourcerer and really hate it as it encourages terrible development of Joomla sites. The fact they are behind it does not give me confidence in them. Can you uninstall the extensions you are using of theirs and see if that fixes it?
May 24, 2017 at 19:03 | comment | added | Delete my account | I also thought the issue was related with Regular Labs extensions because I've just installed some of those. After asking support from them, the owner logged assured me there was no issue related with his extensions. See here: regularlabs.com/forum/advancedmodulemanager/… But this is too much of a coincidence.
